Step 1: Wash & Dry Bedding

Before packing away your bedding, first, wash and clean it in accordance with the manufacturer’s directions.

Step 2: Select The Right Sized Boxes

You will want to pick a suitably sized box for the bedding you are packing. For duvets, you will more than likely need a large sized box.

Step 3: Fold Bedding Efficiently

This next step may require a little patience but minimising the total volume of the bedding can go a long way in making the packing process easier. Before folding your duvet, take note of plastic cover’s shape and fold in such a way that allows for the duvet to easily fit.

Step 4: Place Bedding In Plastic Bags

You may want an extra pair of hands to help you with this part. Carefully pull the plastic bag around the folded duvet and avoid disturbing the duvet from its shape. Once the duvet is covered don’t forget to secure the open side to prevent any dust or dirt getting in.

Step 5: Place The Bagged Bedding In Box

Unlike most moving guides, you will want to avoid packing the box with extra cushioning and wasting that precious space! Duvets and other types of bedding can actually be used to help protect other more delicate items. Pillows are especially useful.

Step 6: Label Accordingly

Depending on how many bedrooms you have, things can get overwhelming when unpacking. To prevent any mismatches in your new home, label each box with the room you picked them from. That way you will know which room they are from without having to open them.

Step 7: Load Bedding Into Moving Vehicle

These boxes need to be arranged in such a way that they are not responsible for the boxes stacked above them. Your bedding boxes may crumple under the weight and cause the boxes above to become unstable. Try to load these boxes towards the top of a pile.
